Program Description

Specific Event Details

Immerse yourself in the world of quilting with our Electronic Services Librarian, Mary Kelly, a self-proclaimed quilting hack with decades of expertise in navigating the world of imperfect projects. Unleash your creativity by utilizing fabric scraps from our community makerspace, The Lab.

This program is tailored for sewing beginners, providing a comprehensive introduction to the art of quilting. Mary will impart essential skills, including the precise cutting and assembly of fabric swatches, along with the fundamentals of quilting techniques.

As part of the experience, you'll gain hands-on experience in operating our Lab sewing machines. These machines are accessible to all patrons during our open Lab hours, offering you the opportunity to continue to utilize your new quilting skills after the program.
