In the winter of 1983-84 the guidebook, Isle Royale National Park: Foot Trails & Water Routes, was released and quickly became known at the park as the “backpacker’s bible.” This winter the book will reach its 40th year of continuous publication in various editions.

Join author, Jim DuFresne in celebrating this remarkable little book with a presentation that begins with him arriving in Juneau Alaska as the new sports editor and then highlighting the best wilderness adventures of his long career, taking you into the wilds of New Zealand, Alaska, and of course Isle Royale.
