Join us for our Second Annual Maker Fest Celebration with The Lab, themed "Fabrics Fun"! This year, we will once again transform our library into a hub of creativity on Sunday, October 13th. Enjoy hands-on activities for all ages, demonstrations of our sewing equipment, and workshops on fabric skills including sewing, embroidery, crochet, knitting, and more! Most events and activities are drop-in with no registration required, but some workshops will have limited registration. Don't miss out on this exciting day of fabric arts and community fun!

Sew a Softie Workshop (Ages 7-12)
Led by Juliette Gustavsson, Founder of Mrs. Jet-Set Tours, which offers unique tours and lectures for global fashion events. 2-3:30pm
Fabric Artist Trading Cards (Teens and Adults)
With fabric artist Meena Schaldenbrand. Create your own collectible fabric art! 3:30-4:30pm
Make Felt Keychains (Ages 5-12)
Hosted by Mila Pershyna of MP Fashion School. Get creative with felt to design your own personalized keychains. 1-3pm
Learn to Knit a Bookmark (Ages 11 and Up)
Join our Reference Assistant Sherri Potas-Garrett and Adult Services Librarian Kathryn Bergeron for this hands-on knitting session. 1-4pm
Crochet Flowers (Teens and Adults)
Led by Youth Librarian Samantha Stachowiak. Discover how to crochet beautiful, decorative flowers. 1-4pm
Scrap Happy Quilting (Teens and Adults)
With Mary Kelly, our Technical Services Coordinator. Learn how to turn fabric scraps into a beginner quilt square. 2-3pm
Hand Embroidery Basics (Teens and Adults)
Hosted by Ruth Schwarz from our library's Needle/Craft Connection group and Librarian Katy Kramp. 1-4pm
Hems and Buttons (Ages 16 and Up)
Lisa Chill of the L. Chill Workroom will guide you through the basics of hemming and replacing buttons. Registration required.
In-House Embroidery Machine Demonstration
Get a demo of the Baby Lock Capella, our embroidery machine in The Lab. 1:15-1:45pm
