Program Description

Specific Event Details

Learn to spin your own yarn using a drop spindle. Drop spinning is an ancient Top Whorl Drop Spindlecraft that uses simple materials to make a spindle that spins sheep's wool or other fibers into yarn. Carol Ullmann will teach you how to draft fibers and begin to spin them into yarn. If you don't plan to bring your own, a limited number of drop spindles, as well as fiber, will be available for use during the class.  (In this class, we will be using Fiber Artist Supply Company Top Whorl Drop Spindle. Spindle Specs: Length: 10", Whorl Diameter: 2.5", Weight: 1.8 ounces)
