Program Description

Specific Event Details

Delve into the fascinating world of 3D printing during this program! Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this session covers essential aspects of utilizing 3D printing services at our library. Participants will gain insights into sourcing 3D designs online, submitting print jobs, and understanding the compatible file formats for our printers.

Discover how to navigate and resize files before submission, and explore the myriad features of the printers in the Lab, including the exciting capability to print in multiple colors. This class goes over 3D printing fundamentals, offering an overview of the 3D design resources available throughout our library such as design software, online classes through platforms like LinkedIn Learning, and an array of technology-focused books in our extensive collection.

It's important to note that this class won't delve into the intricacies of designing 3D objects. Instead, it serves as a valuable starting point for those eager to embark on the journey of learning 3D design. Unleash your creativity and join us to unlock the potential of 3D printing technology at your local library!

This class assumes some familiarity with computers, such as opening and saving files, browsing the internet, as well as remote access to email and cloud storage. However, if you're new to these concepts, we invite you to consider our Computer Basics I and II courses, along with our “Getting the Most out of Gmail”, “Intro to Canva”, and "Introduction to Microsoft Word" courses, which will provide you with a solid foundation.
