Northville District Library presents: Let's Go Birding! with Greg Bodker
RSVP at the Northville District Library for Zoom login details

“Let’s Go Birding” is a followup to Greg Bodker’s well received Birdwatching vs Birding program.  The “Let’s Go Birding” program uses different photos, videos, and stories to prepare the audience to go on a birding adventure in the field.

Bodker says “Most bird species are habitat specific. The process of seeing different birds allows me to see both the birds and all the amazing habitats around us.  My goal is to convey my enthusiasm for the birds and the outdoors to the audience.”

Topics included in this virtual program include:

•    Binocular selection
•    Field guides
•    Learning Bird Songs
•    Birding Apps
•    How eBird can help you find birds
•    Where to find a free course to use eBird
•    Places to go birding in our area
•    Fieldcraft – working through a bird identification
•    Personal stories from the field while birding
•    A photographic deep dive into the interesting behavior of one or two bird species

Greg Bodker has been a serious birder since 2006, combining his interest in birds, nature, and photography as often as possible. Greg has led birding trips for Michigan Audubon and was on its Board of Directors for three years.  Greg now enjoys delivering birding and nature education presentations to audiences throughout Michigan.  Both live and virtual, the presentations have received excellent reviews and earned many recommendations.

Greg has birded in all of Michigan’s 83 counties and in most of North America.  He is excited to report he saw his 346th Michigan bird species in October 2021, a Fish Crow in Tree Oaks, Berrien County Michigan.  Greg has been a winner in multiple amateur photo contests including the overall winner in Michigan Nature Association’s Photo Contest in both 2020 and 2021!
