Presented by Anthony Brogdon, Author of Black Business Book, producer of Business in the Black, and host of Strong Inspirations on YouTube.

Mr. Brogdon will lead a discussion on what really happened on that fateful day, June 19, 1865, including the ways slaves gained their freedom, what started the Civil War, and the status on war battles. He’ll talk about what happened when President Lincoln claimed victory and why those in Galveston, Texas were considered the last to learn of the news. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
