Program Description

Specific Event Details

Join local fiber artist Meena Schaldenbrand as we delve into sewing and fabric techniques, utilizing the equipment within our Lab. Learn introductory sewing skills while crafting fabric postcards that serve as both personal expressions and tangible works of art. As the program draws to a close, you'll have the opportunity to exchange your artistic postcards with fellow participants, forming the building blocks of instant quilts.

With over four decades dedicated to the artistry of textiles, Meena has mastered the art of encapsulating emotions and narratives within her creations. Meena's recent accolades include being showcased in the Primal Forces: Wind exhibition, a debut hosted at the National Quilt Museum. Furthermore, her pieces have graced venues such as the Michigan State University Museum, The Library of Congress, and Westpoint.
