Program Description

Specific Event Details

Join Elaine Pereira, outreach ambassador Compassion & Choices Michigan Volunteer Action Team, as she describes the mission, values, and vision of Compassion & Choices, a national nonprofit organization. C&C works to improve care, expand options and empower everyone to chart their end-of-life journey. It envisions a society that affirms life and accepts the inevitability of death, embraces expanded options for compassionate dying, and empowers everyone to choose end-of-life care that reflects their values, priorities, and beliefs. This presentation will explain the Michigan medical landscape, provide suggestions on how to have difficult conversations with loved ones, discuss Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD), and explore options for a peaceful death.
