Program Description

Specific Event Details

StoryTeen is an unpaid internship program for rising 11th and 12th graders with an interest in early literacy and library programs for youth and families. As a StoryTeen intern, you will learn about teaching literacy, assist with our Kindergarten Bootcamp, and have FUN! Interns will complete up to 30 volunteer hours as a part of this program and develop a relationship with Librarian mentors who will be available for references and letters of recommendation upon successful completion of the program. Candidates should have an interest in libraries and helping children and families and be willing to commit to weekly volunteer hours each Tuesday from June 18 to August 6 with a break during the week of Independence Day. Part of the program will be completing a creative project to present to library staff and intern families at a celebration in the library sometime during the week of August 19.

The application process will open on May 6 and close on May 17 at 5:00 pm with interviews taking place in the last week of May with selected candidates.

The application is now closed.
